Learn ‘the blob technique’: put colour down first and keep everything small - it makes sketching and painting much easier.

Experiment with different paints, markers and fine liners.

PART ONE: DRAWING

Draw-along with me and create people like ‘The Bossy,' ‘The Bored’, and 'The Energetic!'

You’ll soon capture my effervescent style as we go on to capture simple sights and scenes.

I’ll inspire you to whip out a sketchbook and pen from now Every time you're on the train, at the hairdressers or in the waiting room: ditch the phone and start scribbling. There are billions of things out there - and they're eminently sketchable! 

PART TWO: PAINTING

It's time for the showstopper!

Together we’ll each paint this eye-popping portrait of the sun setting behind Rothampstead Park (just to the left of the football pitches). Use my easy-to-follow instructions via the projector - or use my brushes and paints to go rogue with your own version.

• Pre-primed canvas panels/textured watercolour paper

• Watercolour and gouache paints

• Watercolour brushes

• Pro-marker pens

• Uniball micro air fineliners

• Permanent markers

• Japanese washi tape
