PART ONE: DRAWING
Experiment with my vibrant watercolour palettes as I show you my signature ‘Blob Technique’: Put the colour down first and keep everything small - it makes sketching and painting much easier.
Draw-along with me as I guide you through simple sights/familiar objects - you’ll soon capture my effervescent style.
This exercise should inspire you to whip out a sketchbook every time you're on the train, at the hairdressers or in the waiting room: ditch your phone and just start scribbling. There are billions of things out there - and they're eminently sketchable!
PART TWO: PAINTING
Now you’ve warmed up with paints and brushes, let me show you how to create a stunning seasonal wreath of flowers and foliage. Never buy a greeting card on the High street again - you’ll have the skills to churn out a DIY version at the drop of a hat - and simple adaptions can be used to mark every celebration from Valentine’s Day through to Christmas.
PART THREE: CRAFTING
After a short break to clear the decks, freshen our drinks and gather our wits, we’ll settle down to some collaging.
Collage is a beautifully simple way to create impact. By working with just one colour and exploring its different shades and tones, you’ll build depth, contrast and expression. The result feels bold yet balanced — unified, striking and surprisingly powerful.
I’ve roadtested this activity several times with my Infant School Art Club - so I guarantee you’ll be able to do it. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Think you “can’t draw” or “can’t paint”?
Then you’re my favourite type of person! You’re absolutely going to be able to do this and I’m going to really enjoy showing you how. Some other Art classes ask you to copy one big showpiece. At Art Social you’ll discover simple ways to make several beautiful creations and then go home with the confidence to make even more.
Please be prompt
The workshop will start and end exactly at the time arranged. If you arrive 5 minutes early you can place any orders at the bar, get settled and we can kick off bang on time. If you’re late, you’ll still be warmly welcomed but you’ll probably need to wait until the start of the second activity to join in.
Eats and drinks
The food at Bardo Lounge is great, cocktails delicious and the staff are laid-back and friendly. Please note that menu items are not included in your ticket but are available to purchase at the bar. Outside food and drinks are not allowed.
Cancellations
Can’t make it? Aww shame! As this is a small business, I’m afraid no refunds can be given – but any friends of yours can use the ticket that you’ve paid for. Please notify me as soon as possible if you’re not coming or plan to send in a sub.
What to bring and wear
Everything will be provided. Just bring your lovely self, preferably in something you don’t mind getting paint on, just in case.

Warm and welcoming Bardo Lounge is in Maidenhead’s swanky waterside quarter. It’s on the bridge next to Sauce and Flour and across the road from Bakedd.
Art Socials happen at a long table to the right of the bar, toward the back of the Lounge.
Parking
If you are pay & display fan, you’re spoilt for choice in Maidenhead.
The closest is Hines Meadow multi-story, which is on Saint Cloud Way, SL6 1QZ.
Floors 1 and above have public bays which you can pay for using good old, straightforward coins - or the RingGo app if signal allows before your head explodes…
There are various exits and routes to Bardo Lounge, which is a very short distance away. If you’re a stranger to Maidenhead, the best thing would be to allow 10 minutes for the walk (which is plenty) and use the sat nav on your phone.
There are a plethora of other parking options if you look on-line in advance.

Photographs will be taken during Art Socials for promotional purposes, including use on the website, social media channels and marketing materials.
